PensaFAQ isn't strictly designed to offer support to your customers. With very few changes to the public interface, PensaFAQ can offer your customers a multitude of knowledgebase solutions such as Walk-Throughs, Tutorials, Terminology Dictionaries, and more.

Easy Automated Installation
The installation process is very easy and automated. You simply open the config.asp file, edit up to 3 lines (the database type, path to database, and security password). Once that is complete, you run the setup.asp file included with the program and it will walk you through the rest of the process. Installation of the required database tables is automatic and the entire process takes on average of 3-4 minutes.
Modules Interface
PensaWorks understands that PensaFAQ is not a 100% perfect solution for every situation. That's why we developed the new modules interface. Now you can develop your own scripts that extend that capabilities of our programs. Integration of these modules is seamless, and easy. This also allows third parties to release added features without making any changes to the program itself.
Works with Access or SQL
PensaFAQ has been designed to work with Access 97 and Access 2000 Databases as well as SQL Server 7.0 and 2000, providing the power needed for unlimited growth and scalability.
Web Based Administration
PensaFAQ is 100% web based. Whether you're at home, the office, or away on a business trip, you can always login to edit entries, check statistics, and more. Or you can create login accounts for employees and delegate that responsibility.
Co-Branded footer
If you're a website developer or designer wanting to use PensaFAQ for a client, then you want some way for your clients to know you are in charge. With the customizable footer, you can add in whatever graphics or HTML you wish. Let your clients know that their system is "Powered by Your Company". This footer is displayed in the lower left hand corner of the administration system.
No Extra DLL's or components required
PensaFAQ does not require any special Components (DLL's) for it's normal operation. However, some features (such as the lost password), require a mailer component. Your hosting company may provide multiple mailer components for you to use, and nearly all hosts have enabled CDONTS that comes bundled with IIS. If you are unsure as to what mailer components available for you to use, you can download our Advanced Mailer Component Test and see for yourself. Instructions are included with the zip file, but are as easy as extracting, uploading, and then running the script.
Unlimited Articles/Questions
PensaFAQ does not prevent your company from growing like most service based systems do. Whether you have 10 articles or 10,000, there is no extra charge or license fee. You maintain complete control as we do not penalize you for the success of your business.
Unlimited Associated Links
There will be times when an internal or external link will help explain things or offer additional information for a particular article. With PensaFAQ, you can add an unlimited number of these associated links to each article.
Unlimited Associated Downloads
There will be times when an internal or external download will need to accompany a particular article. With PensaFAQ, you can add an unlimited number of these associated downloads to each article complete with description and all.
Unlimited Assigned Categories
An article is not always related to a specific category. PensaFAQ allows you to have just one article entry be assigned to multiple categories. This makes updates much faster and easier without having to duplicate data.
Unlimited Assigned Products
Sometimes, it is helpful to a user to know exactly what product(s) a specific article relates to. PensaFAQ allows you to assign an unlimited number of products and version to any given article.
Unlimited Related Questions
Sometimes articles are related in many ways, but due to specifics, they end up as separate entries. PensaFAQ allows to to relate as many articles together as you want.
Status, Issue Type and Language Assignment
Each article maintains it's own settings. The status tells the program whether it can be viewed publicly or not, or whether a higher ranking admin needs to approve it first. The language marker let's you keep track at a quick glance what language the article is in, while the Issue Type let's people know whether it is a Pre-Sale, Post-Sale, Installation, Configuration, or other type of question. Issue Types are set by you, and there is an entire section of the Administration System devoted to managing these.
Question Rating & Feedback System
Feedback from your users is invaluable. PensaFAQ has a built in rating and comments system which allow your visitors to send you feedback and rate the question they are viewing. IP and Cookie tracking even make sure that they can't vote more than once.
Article Search
Just as the public interfaces allow your website visitors to search for articles, the 'Advanced' Public Interface has been integrated directly into the administration system so you can easily find the articles you need.
Article Statistics
Each article maintains it's own basic statistics. The number of views, it's current rating, when it was created, and other items help you know how effective they really are.
Article Approval Process
Administrators can be allowed to edit or add an article at anytime they need to. However, with the new feature, you can require that a higher ranking administrator (aka one with approval capabilities) to 'approve' the article before it goes live.
HTML Editor
When creating or editing your FAQ entries, an HTML Editor is integrated so you can manage your data just as if you were in your favorite WYSIWYG Editor.
Unlimited Categories
Sometimes it is helpful to a user to know exactly what category(s) a specific article belongs to. PensaFAQ allows you to assign an unlimited number of categories to any given article.
Hierarchical, nested categories
Define the hierarchy of your support system with unlimited nested categories.
User specific login username & password
Maintaining a support system can be a lot of work, especially if you have more that one product. PensaFAQ allows you to create multiple administrator accounts, each with their own login with different access privileges, so you can delegate the work out to multiple people.
User specific settings and preferences
Everyone is different, and thus everyone likes things a little bit differently. Not only does PensaFAQ maintain a separate username and password for each user, but their preferences and settings are stored apart from the whole as well. Get the comfort you deserve by selecting what you want.

What would a knowledge base application be without search functionality? Well, it would be a knowledge base application be without search functionality. PensaFAQ doesn't have this limitation as the Public Interfaces all sport search capabilities, with lots of options.
Search Phrase Highlighting on search results, and article pages
Ok, you've done your search, now what? You have to wade through all the data presented to you so that you can find what it is you are looking for. The Search Phrase Highlighting takes care of this by highlighting the words and phrases you search for. Pick the words out of any passage of text easily and quickly, without getting eye strain.
Printable Versions
Your visitor finds the article in your knowledge base that they are looking for. Now what? They can bookmark it and come back later, but what if they need to print it out? Does your site print well? Not to fear, the printable version of every article takes care of this. With a plain white background, and a nice layout, their printed version will look smooth. Plus with a few modifications to the printable.asp page, you can add your logo or other HTML tags to customize it even further.
Suggest An Article
Ask and you shall receive! Our customers have practically demanded this feature since PensaFAQ v1.0 was launched. So it is our great pleasure to implement what you want. Now your visitors can take time to fill out a special form that tells them what kind of article they wish you to write. Of course you still have control by having the ability to turn this off and on at your discretion.
Email This Article (to themselves or a friend)
You've seen those "Email this page to a friend" links before. They are effective, boast traffic, and are easy to implement. So why should your knowledge base be any different? PensaFAQ sports this capability, with options for you to determine exactly how those emails look, what format they are in, as well as who gets a copy of it. You are in complete control.
Bookmark Article
What's the most effective way to get people coming back to your site? Ok, so it's newsletters... but return visits from bookmarked pages is probably the second best method. With PensaFAQ, all articles have a 1 click link to add that page to their favorites section. Of course you still have control by having the ability to turn this off and on at your discretion.
